Meet the Director of Mid City

Heather Bergeron

Director of FCA Mid City

Hi, I am Heather Bergeron, the Director of FCA Mid City. Before moving to this position, I served as a level 3 director in a 5 star childcare facility in North Carolina. I have also served as a public school teacher for 18 years. I currently hold two Bachelor degrees in Education and Child & Family Studies with a minor in Sociology.

I have two grown children who live very active lives. My daughter is graduating from Liberty University in History Education in May then going to obtain her Master’s degree. My son is the digital media director for Jockey and married the love of his life 2 years ago. My daughter in law is my “favorite child” and currently pursuing her music career. They just moved to Nashville, TN and absolutely love it.

Some of my favorite things include: reading, coffee, family, friends, and my dog. I love working with children, as it is a great passion of mine and I take a lot of pride in it. Seeing their eyes light up when they discover something new is so special to experience.

Katelin Darby

Assistant Director of FCA Mid City

Hey there! I'm Katelin, and I’m the proud assistant director of Fontainebleau Children's Academy at the Baton Rouge Mid City location. With 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education under my belt, I am passionate about nurturing young minds and making sure every child feels valued. I’m also a mom to five amazing kiddos (including two bonus children!), ranging from ages 2 to 18. So, I definitely know a thing or two about multitasking and keeping up with a busy household!

As a former EMT, safety is a top priority for me, and I carry that commitment with me every day in my work. I hold a Child Development Associate (CDA), Ancillary Certificate, and am CPR/First Aid certified. Plus, I keep learning by taking annual courses on everything from health and safety to classroom management, all to ensure the children in my care thrive not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. Before stepping into the assistant director role, I was lucky enough to teach children from infants all the way through Pre-K.

At the end of the day, my greatest joy comes from watching children grow and learn, and I am so lucky to be a part of their journey!
